Celebrating Mother’s Day During Quarantine

With Mother’s Day around the corner, you may be looking for ways to show your mom some appreciation. However, this year it may be a little complicated since you may not be able to spend time with your mom on this special day. There are many great ways you can celebrate Mother’s Day while social distancing.

Show your Appreciation with a Card
One simple, yet thoughtful idea would be to send her a personalized e-card. There are so many online websites that make it so simple to send a fun, interactive, personalized card. There are free platforms such as Canva where you can create a customized card. Whichever one you choose, make sure to take some time to write a personalized message to your mom.

Schedule Family Time
Every year, my wife and I always visit our Mothers and Grandmothers. Although this year we will not be able to visit, we can schedule a video chat on Mother’s Day. It would also be a good idea to schedule a group call with your mom and siblings for a virtual Mother’s Day lunch. Make sure to plan a time that you can spend together to chat about anything and everything with no distractions.

Give your Mom your Undivided Attention
The time that you have set aside for Mother’s Day needs to be protected. In a world full of distractions, make sure that your mom has your undivided attention. With all that’s going on in everyone’s lives (and with what’s happening in the world right now) this time is that much more valuable.

Online Shopping to the Rescue!
Luckily there are thousands of online stores that can deliver gifts straight to your mom’s door. Order a little something for your mom and try to support local merchants at the same time. It’s a gift for both your mom and the community. If you live in Quebec, check out Le Panier Bleu for a list of local e-commerce sites.

To all the Mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day from Lazvita!
